Stepping Up to Make a Difference

 Leadership Texarkana Class of 2017-18

Thirty of Texarkana USA's finest from throughout the community invested two days participating in the 2017 Opening Retreat, held at beautiful Elliot Lake at Red River Army Depot. Included in the agenda was the always awe-inspiring and class favorite tour of the depot, this year conducted by Jamie Bass, LT Class of 2014, who is the RRAD Director of Logistics.  RRAD Protocol Officer Tara Cockum (LT Class of 2003) was on hand to document the tour.

The group gathered in Texarkana Thursday morning, Sept 14 before heading out, where they were given an official send-off by members of the LT Board (Clay Roberts, Fred Norton, David Reavis, Kristie Dempsey, Mary Ellen Young, Justin White, Lance Wharton, Lesley Ledwell) and of the LT Curriculum Team (Scott Norton, Bob Nelsen, Russell Mayo, Robbin Bass, Jennifer Harland), and Mary Alice O’Farrell (LT grads from 1983-2017); Dr. Lila Walker (LT 1997), Josh (LT 1982) and Diana Morriss, Dr. Beverly Rowe contributed to Director REWhitt’s agenda anchoring the year-long program around the opportunity for Community Leaders in Texarkana USA.  With the hours of prep and participation invested by all, (not the least being LT Admin Asst Stephanie Maddox), it proves that it takes a village of folks Stepping Up to make the difference!   Many thanks to all - and Go Team!
