PROFILE IN LEADERSHIP
Pinson Razaq, Board President
Leadership Texarkana

“Leadership means serving others by equipping them with the education, training and tools necessary to be successful.  A true leader inspires and motives others to tap into their own skills and talents, and to freely share ideas that contribute to the whole vision or cause.” that is the answer Pinson Razaq, Leadership Texarkana Board President gives when asked what leadership means to him.  He finds this question to be very personal in nature since he finds himself still on his leadership journey.

Currently, he serves as the board president of Leadership Texarkana and admits that in the past year he has “learned that Texarkana has an abundance of community pride and resources”  but also many excellent leaders that are more than willing to connect with one another and engage each others to take action “for the better of Texarkana”.  “I have met some wonderful people this year through LT and have throughly enjoyed my year…” says Razaq.

Pinson also acknowledges the work still to be done by the board and encourages the community to lend their support.  Leadership Texarkana’s efforts, through LIFT, of providing a platform for both city’s to have a dialog, is very important to him and the LT board.  When asked if he were granted a wish that make a huge difference in the world or in his small corner what would it be?  He noted that unity would be his pick.  If unity were applied to LIFT [our community] and so many other projects that are near to his heart amazing things could be accomplished and our world, community and relationships would be so much better.

Pinson has deep historical roots in Texarkana.  His family, the Bell’s and the Henry’s, were instrumental in the growth of Texarkana through business interests and land development. Pinson now notes that his passion is definitely with his family, Amanda, Arden and Beckett. The time they spend together are also dear.

There are many honors and activities of note which Pinson has accumulated. He is an Arkansas High graduate where he was Secretary of the Key Club, a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Real Estate Finance degree, a member of the SAE Fraternity, an Eagle Scout, member of the Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, member of the Texarkana Board of Realtors, the Arkansas and Texas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

When asked if there was something that many do not know about him?  Pinion says he takes his cattle seriously!
