What have you learned most about making a difference in Texarkana (or about your opportunity for community leadership) from being a part of Leadership Texarkana?

There are so many opportunities to volunteer for a wide range of organizations. You can find something that is important to you and help using your talents.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership to me means helping when and where you can.

For what community organization or issue or opportunity do you have a passion and invest your time, talent or money?

Alzheimer’s Alliance hold a very special place in my heart and invest quite a bit of time by volunteering for different fundraising events.

After participating in Leadership Texarkana I wanted to spread all the fun and interesting things in Texarkana with the rest of the community. I am involved with their latest endeavor, #gotxk, to feature everything there is to love about Texarkana.

If you had one wish and could make a difference of significance in Texarkana (your small corner) what would you do with that one wish and why?

For more people to be involved with the community. I feel if more people were involved around the community you wouldn’t hear “there is nothing to do” they would know how much our community has to offer to all ages.

What do many people not know about you that you would to share with us? What are some of your passions and hobbies?

My husband and I have two rescue dogs, both bully breeds, a pit bull and bull terrier. If I could I would rescue all the bully breed dogs possible. They are so loving and silly.

What do you most love to do in Texarkana? What do you most love about Texarkana, in general?

Attending events around town like the Four States Fair, Discovery Place Museum and anything with great food. I love that you have access to shops and restaurants like a big city, but you have that small town feel that makes it a wonderful place to raise a family.
