An Estimated 5,000 People Made Texarkana's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure a Success
Last Saturday, an estimated 5,000 people came together to promote breast cancer awareness at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Texarkana. Event organizers said that over the past 19 years, this event has raised more than $5 million—with most of that money being used in the Texarkana area to provide grants to locals. The Race for the Cure caps off a series of breast cancer awareness events in the area, including Pink Out Day on October 13 and the Kids Glow Run on October 14. It’s so inspiring to see the community come together to rally around a good cause. Kudos to the hardworking team who makes Texarkana’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure possible—and to all of the citizens and groups in the area who make this event such a huge success every year!
