1. Bridge City Project. Friday, Jan. 26, 5 p.m. Downtown at Mission Texarkana (Formerly known as Friendship Center and Church Under the Bridge). An evening of storytelling, live bands, chili tasting, and spending the night in solidarity with the homeless, as you experience reality for some of Texarkana’s community. All proceeds will go towards direct service training and the Texarkana College Scholarship for Homeless Individuals. 

2. Phantom Ball.  Saturday, Jan. 27, 6 p.m., Northridge Country Club. Married with the popular T.V. show “Dancing with the Stars” = an evening of dancing, dinner, and an unforgettable performance by our dancers! Proceeds raised benefit Temple Memorial Rehabilitation Center


3. 3rd Annual Six Leg Fun Run. Sunday, Jan. 28, 12:30 p.m., Front Street. Proceeds raised benefit the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center and our community by raising money to purchase an “adoption trailer”.

4. Tuesday, Jan. 23: Midday fun for every age

  • Growing Better and Bolder with Missy Buchanan. 11:30 a.m., Cornerstone Healthy Living Community. Hear inspiring speaker, best-selling author on faith and aging-–her presentation will leave you feeling encouraged and inspired, regardless of age. Presented by Cornerstone Healthy Living Community. Free luncheon, but RSVP required. Sign up.

  • Pete the Cat. 12 p.m., Perot Theatre. Presented by TRAHC for children ages PreK-3; general admission available for public. When Pete the Cat gets caught rocking out after bedtime, the cat-catcher sends him to live with the Biddle family to learn his manners – and boy are they square! 5. Tuesday, Jan. 23

  • Be the Light Festival. 5 p.m., Eagle Hall at Texas A&M University. Join Healthcare Express for a night of fun, festivities, celebrating their being part of the community for 12 years! Every donation you bring for entry earns you raffle tickets to win one of 12 amazing prizes! Earn extra tickets by playing one of the many carnival games. Be part of a closing Legacy Lantern release where all will have a chance to release a lantern out into the night for a spectacular display.   • Dart Tournament and Silent Auction. 11 a.m., Elks Lodge, 3702 New Boston Rd. Texarkana, TX. Proceeds raised benefit Bowie County Special Olympics. Admission is a $5 donation; children are free. Dart tournament has $5 donation entry fee. Prizes awarded. All skill levels—beginners welcome! Special Olympics athletes guaranteed top prizes.
