DID YOU KNOW...?

The circle trail around Bringle Lake is now approximately half finished which means that the first three of the six-mile trail is completed. Adventuresome individuals can enter the new trail next to the restrooms at Bringle Lake East park and now follow the trail over three miles back to the spillway at the far end of Bringle Lake.  The new trail is being built by the City of Texarkana, Texas in conjunction with Texas A&M-Texarkana, with matching funds from Partnership for the Pathway.

THEY'RE IN!

Keep Texarkana Beautiful (KTB of Texarkana, TX) and the City Beautiful Commission (CBC of Texarkana, AR) work to recognize those in our community who go above and beyond to help keep our community neat, clean green and pretty. Alternating Texas and Arkansas honorees each month, the organizations take turns recognizing a business and a residence that exemplify the goals and values and efforts that make our community an attractive place to live.

In February KTB recognized Cody and Natalie Peek (as individuals) and Ironwood Grill (as a business) for their efforts.

  CONGRATULATIONS and
THANKS TO ALL

Stepping Up to
Make a Difference
STEPHANIE FUSSELL

“The idea of leadership to me means having the opportunity to make a difference,”  Stephanie believes that you can take “an out of the box idea” and make it happen.  “Dream big and big things will happen.”

...if she could make one wish to make a difference in her part of the world:   “My greatest hope in making a difference is to bring more awareness to the surrounding area about the need for CASA volunteers to help children have a voice and a friend,” says Stephanie.   She believes all children deserve the opportunity to be the best they can be.  She loves seeing smiling faces where tears used to be, or watching adults find purpose in helping a child.  For Stephanie Fussell it doesn’t get any better than that!

  • Count the ways. Pretend you are in Europe and open your eyes to the great numbers of exquisite stained glass windows in our downtown churches, then thank our ancestors for the legacy they have left us.
  • Take a Spring Break.  Many area schools will be on spring break in the coming weeks which provides an excellent opportunity to visit a local treasure house: The Discovery Place Children’s Museum is an excellent choice to allow folks of all ages to get up close and experience “hands on” interactive learning as they wander through and see what exhibit most sparks their interest. Be sure you take the opportunity to witness the 1,000,000 volt Musical Tesla Coils! For more information please visit  http://texarkanamuseums.org/

Totally Texarkana Favorite Foods
of the Weekl

"My favorite restaurant in Texarkana is Park Place - I’ve been going to Park Place for over 30 years and the food is consistently good, and I love that they still have a fresh salad bar. I usually have the Beef Pontchartrain, which is always great, but, the one dish we always order is Oysters Bienville. They are the best we have ever had at any restaurant!... In addition to the great food and service, Cyrus and his family always make you feel welcome!
