  • CELEBRATION of Scott Joplin!

    • Scott Joplin International Centennial Celebration! Perot Theatre. Apr 1 at 7:30 PM. Ragtime from MacArthur Genius Award-winning Scott Joplin artist Reginald Robinson; Texarkana’s own internationally known jazz artist/educator and Grammy-Nominated Roseanna Vitro. Presentation of the first Regional Music Heritage Center Lifetime Achievement Award (a “Boogie”) to Mr. Rule Beasley. The Texarkana Jazz Orchestra big band jazz. Four States Student Jazz Showcase. Premier of Carol Collins-Miles “The Texarkana Jazz Rag.” 

    • Friday Night Joplin Preview. Mar 31 at 6:30PM–9:30 PM at Silvermoon on Broad. Great munchies plus great music on two stages featuring Roseanna Vitro, Candace Taylor, and Carol Collins-Miles backed by ”Three of Kind”. Boogie-Woogie master John Tennison. plus the Texarkana Trio from the Netherlands entertains with 50s rock and rockabilly which our city contributed so much to. 

    • Scott Joplin Documentary - Preview. Sat, Apr 1 at the Museum of Regional History - previews of the newest documentary that focuses on the extraordinary talents and life of native son, Scott Joplin, Father of Ragtime. Screenings on the hour from 1PM; last showing starting at 4PM. FREE. Tours of the Museum and the Joplin Exhibit are $5. 903-793-4831.

  • Texarkana ROCKS! 1954-1956. Apr 2 at 2PM. Perot Theatre. The Texarkana Trio from the Netherlands will back the great George Thomas in tribute to both the young Elvis as well as Carl (Cheesie) Nelson’s performances and life. 



  • Jump Start Saturday: ArkLaTex Challenge Bike Ride. Choose from 5 different distances to cycle your way through THREE States: Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. All proceeds support Texarkana Resources’ provisions for living and employment opportunities to adults with disabilities. Sat Apr 1. 7 AM - 3 PM. Learn more.

  • Touch-A-Truck at Front Street Festival Plaza Downtown. Sat, Apr 1 from 8AM–9 PM. Includes 5K Race or 1 Mile Fun Run: Kids! Come as you are or dress up like your favorite superhero and fly to the fInish line! Funds raised benefit the many programs of the Junior League Texarkana. 

    While you’re downtown Saturday: 

    Early Spring Market. 7–10 AM. A chance to get early spring vegetables, eggs, crafts and more. Texarkana Farmers’ Market on Texas Blvd. 

    Anne and Dan Thornhill Art Exhibit. Mar 30–May 6. Free. Regional Arts Center 



  • Monster Truck Madness! Apr 1 from 4–10PM Four States Fair Entertainment Center. 

  • 3rd Annual Fur Ball. Help our furry friends have a better life!! featuring big band music from the Jeremy Smith 7. Sat, Apr 1 at 6:30 PM - 9:30 Silvermoon on Broad.

  • Spring Mosaics Class with Sheila Keever. Learn the basic mosaic tools, substrates, tesserae, adhesives, grouts, and the enjoyment of creating a long-lasting piece of art. Bring your beads, buttons, and broken pieces! For any skill level age 12–adult. Tuesdays from Mar 28–May 2. Arts on Main.
