Senior Community Leadership for SAGES

The current generation of senior adults is the best educated and most experienced generation to ever enter the last third of life. They have worked and lived with high expectations and will carry those same expectations into retirement. Senior adults today want to explore their interests, hobbies, and how they can continue to be engaged in making their community a better place to live.

One of the primary goals of Leadership Texarkana is engaging and equipping residents with the knowledge and capacity to step up as individuals of influence in our pursuit for community excellence. We believe that the key to engagement in the community is knowledge and awareness about what’s to love about our community.

The Senior Leadership Texarkana program being offered by Leadership Texarkana through Texarkana College's Sage is designed to offer a pathway to:

  • Connect with other senior adults in the greater Texarkana community who want to learn more about where they live and learn how they can increase the legacy they are leaving.
  • Cultivate an understanding of individual and community leadership and creating livable, healthy communities.
  • Engage in discovering organizations and areas where seniors can contribute from the strength of their own background and experiences.
